Disney Parks “Magical Christmas Day Parade” is Filming November 9th and 10th at Disney World. Christmas morning is a time for kids to realize Santa may have come and visited them during the night with presents left behind, maybe a bit has been taken out of a cookie, and the milk has been drunk. The morning is spent opening presents and spending with the family. If your family is anything like mine, then it is also a time for some family traditions like the 10 AM EST showing of Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade.

The parade is usually filmed in November at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and aired on ABC Television. It features celebrity hosts, like Siblings Derek and Julianne Hough last year. In between parade floats are performances of classic holiday songs. The performances are recorded at the opposite park from where the parade is filmed.

Last November the performances were filmed at Disneyland, and this year it appears that they will once again be filmed at Disneyland. We already have reports and images from a holiday performance by John Legend in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. This means, we here on the East Coast at Walt Disney World will get the Magical Christmas Day Parade, and we now know when.

November 9th and 10th, 2024, at 2 PM EST. The best place to watch the parade is on Main Street USA facing Cinderella Castle. The video cranes for filming the parade will be located from Casey’s Corner, and another set of cranes should be set up by Uptown Jewelers. Making Town Square a great place to watch as the floats pass by.

We were at the filming last year, 2023, and had an amazing time, you can see the images below. The parade will take a little extra time to make its way down Main Street USA, this is due to the filming. Sometimes the film crew needs to spend a little extra time on a float or to get the right angle. This just adds to the fun.

A valid Ticket and Reservation are needed to enter the Magic Kingdom.

There is no word on who the celebrity hosts or performers are for 2024. A press release will follow in the next few weeks.

Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade will be “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade” which runs during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and then will run daily during the actual Christmas Week. The times for Christmas Day (When we get official word, we will fix this article) should be 2:00 PM and run that week, but minus Santa and Mrs. Claus who have done their jobs and have returned to the North Pole or gone on vacation at Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin.

Holiday Fun Along Main Street, U.S.A.

Delight in an entertaining display chock-full of good cheer.

The legendary street comes alive with yuletide spirit on select nights. Snap memorable photos of dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers, and beloved Disney Characters as they float by, waving hello. There’s even a special appearance by Santa Claus–riding in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will be presented as part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party—offered on select nights from November 8 through December 20, 2024. Check the schedule on this page for showtimes.
