Challenged to a Dance Off at the New Star-Lord Meet & Greet Started in Epcot. Yesterday Peter Quill aka Star-Lord from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy made his long-awaited return to World Discovery. Starting at 9:00 AM on 9/29/2024, Star-Lord walked out from behind the Nova Corp Ship and danced to his new meet & greet spot close to Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind.
The new Star-Lord spot is located in between Cosmic Rewind and Mission Space, if you had a chance to see the Groot Topiary during Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival then you will know exactly where it is. With the character not listed on the My Disney Experience App, it is not on the beaten path. We circled the spot on the map below.
While meeting Star-lord, he challenged us to a dance-off, which we declined, and he declared himself the winner. It was a very fun time, and we were not rushed through the line. He has some great one-liners.

The last time I saw Peter Quill dancing in Epcot was with Gamora during the opening ceremony of Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind May 5th, 2022. Prior to that Star-Lord performed with “Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!” in 2018-2019 at the American Gardens Theater.
“Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!” was a concert show at Epcot that features the music from the Guardians of the Galaxy films’ Awesome Mixes. The show stars Star-Lord and Gamora and took place at the America Gardens Theatre
I don’t know if it was Disney’s fault or the lack of people reporting on the new meet and greet, or maybe it is the time of year, or possibly the lack of people in the Disney Content community making any mention of this story, or perhaps it just wasn’t that exciting for guests, by 9:10 AM the line was empty. We went and rode GOTG and came back out at 10:10, and the line was empty for the 10:15 AM Star-Lord character. So, hopefully, people will start realizing this is happening because we had a blast.
