Breaking News: Magic Kingdom False Alarm – Lock Down, The Emporium Trashed During Stampede on Main Street USA – Sherrif’s Office Official Statement. We are hearing some guests were shuffled into the Utilidors. Initial reports of a gun scare have circulated online, there is NO verified report of an actual gun or shooting taking place.
This is breaking news directly from reports of guests in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. We have a few X formally Twitter posts to share as we try to find out what is happening. While the incident may have started at the Monorail, It would appear that all the issues happened on Main Street USA and all the way back to Casey’s. Images from Casey’s show food trays abandoned and left uneaten. While strollers were left empty as parents grabbed their children and ran. Even a mobility scooter was knocked over and left behind.
UPDATE 1: Reports of a fight near the Monorail, and someone shouted GUN.
UPDATE 2: Orange County Sheriff’s Department is on scene with a heavy presence.
UPDATE 3: Orange County Sheriff’s Department just released a statement VIA X: ALERT: There is NO active shooter at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. A fight occurred, and a “popping” sound was heard that we believed was a balloon. Guests began running and that’s how the active shooter rumor started. There is no active shooter.
UPDATE 4: Disney’s Magic Kingdom was never officially evacuated. Guests were able to exit the park through backstage areas. We take this to mean that guests were able to use the annex off of Main Street USA to go around and still exit from the front of the Park.
UPDATE 5: Just a reminder, Walt Disney Security has some of the best metal detectors and scanners. They are well trained and fully monitoring every guest who enters. Orange County Sheriff’s are always located next to the security areas.
While we have heard reports in the past of guests bringing guns, they always end up being caught by security!
Walt Disney World, and especially Disney’s Magic Kingdom, is one of the safest places on earth.
Other reports are saying there was a massive fight on the monorail, people dropped everything they were doing, and eating and started running for the main exit. Total Panic ensued. We are watching X and Breaking news reports.
D @ Anxrosa just posted: went to magic kingdom today and there was literally a stampede because of a suspected shooter i thought that was actually going to be my last day. i was shoved out of the way and fell. mothers were crying looking for their daughters, people were hiding, it was so bad.
