Flavors of Florida at Disney Springs Culinary Series Week 1 with Morimoto Asia. Flavors of Florida has officially started. The annual event at Disney Springs brings the best in culinary, drinks, ingredients, and Chefs together for a summer-long celebration of all things Florida. The culinary series that happens on Fridays at 9:30 AM for the next few weeks offers a look into the creation and a sample of the dishes served at various locations across Disney Springs.
This year’s Culinary Series started with Morimoto Asia chef Takeshi Ikeuchi preparing the Florida Key West Pink Shrimp Salad and joining the Chef was Mixologist Junko who crafted Morimoto Asia’s signature Flavors of Florida cocktail. The best part is when the demonstration is over, you can sample the dishes and drinks prepared. Furthermore, you can visit Morimoto Asia all summer long to try it out for yourself.
If that isn’t enough, and you want to try and recreate this combination, you receive the recipe on a card. Chef Takeshi was handing them out personally.
- Florida Key West Pink Shrimp Salad
Green tea-infused Japanese soba noodles, radish, carrot, cucumber, lettuce, and ponzu sauce - Sparkling Shiso Orange
Housemade shiso orange shrub, yuzu, and sparkling green tea
The dish was delicious. Key West Pink Shrimp has turned into a personal favorite. We have learned a lot in the past year about the locally sourced shrimp, and Chef Takeshi’s use is well done. What makes this dish stand out is the ponzu sauce, which has a jelly-like consistency. Along with the choice of soba noodles, the Chef has come up with a beautiful summer flavor. Sparkling Shiso Orange was a wonderful pairing. Together, this was a light and refreshing pairing.
Culinary Series hosted by Kroger Delivery takes place in Disney Springs Friday mornings all summer long at Waterview Park
