Star Wars: The Dark Side Takes Over The London Eye. To celebrate Star Wars Day and its infamous villains, the world-renowned London Eye will be embracing the dark side this weekend. Stay tuned for more information.

The world-renowned lastminute.com London Eye, one of London’s most iconic and cherished landmarks, is calling on all fans to celebrate Star Wars and its infamous villains on Star Wars Day with a dynamic light show.

In the evening of Saturday, May the 4th, the London Eye will put on a lighting spectacle inspired by the dark side and lightsaber colors of the Sith Darth Vader™, Darth Maul™, and Emperor Palpatine; turning the wheel red, silver, and black. The stunning display will be an epic moment for all fans celebrating Star Wars Day, illuminating the skyline of London from 19:45 – 06:00 BST. So whether you’re a loyal supporter of the Rebel Alliance or the Resistance, an advocate for the Galactic Empire or the First Order, or simply just curious, the Force will be with all fans on May the 4th at the London Eye.

“London may not be a galaxy far, far away, but Darth Vader and Stormtroopers visiting the London Eye certainly cements London’s celebrations this May the 4th,” said Imran Tauqir, General Manager at the lastminute.com London Eye. “Whilst the Eye hosts thousands of guests every day, we hope all fans in London and abroad this Star Wars Day find their inner ‘Force’ and enjoy witnessing the illumination inspired by the villains of the Star Wars galaxy.”

Last month, Star Wars took over the Empire State Building in NYC.

In a surprise special event held at New York City’s iconic Empire State Building, Lucasfilm continued the “Imperial March” — a month-long celebration of Star Wars villainy with reveals of action figures, toys, collectibles, apparel, accessories, and more, as we “March to May the 4th.” The biggest day of Imperial March yet, fans got their first look at Hasbro’s adorable Force N’ Telling Vader, new Star Wars: The Black Series figures, and much more.

But to paraphrase Count Dooku, that was only the beginning! On Thursday evening, a Star Wars-themed dynamic light show played on the famous skyscraper, featuring villains, vehicles, scenes, and surprises from across the galaxy. Watch it below, and browse the gallery for highlights from throughout the day — including a visit to the Big Apple from the Chosen One himself.
