Earl the Squirrel is Back for Holidays at Universal Orlando with “Earl’z March of the Nutcrackers” Scavenger Hunt. Earl the Squirrel has become a legend at Universal Orlando. What started as a joke in 2015 with a local squirrel getting into the Universal Studios giant Christmas Tree and chewing through the lights has turned into a beloved holiday character. With Earl meet and greets, Holiday merchandise, a kid’s book, and an ‘Earl’z March of the Nutcrackers’ search and find that takes guests through Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, and City Walk. Furthermore, he has a special spot in the Holiday Tree every year now.
We got over to Universal Studios and on our visit to the new Holiday Tribute Store saw the new themed section of the store that is dedicated to our squirrel friend Earl. Besides seeing the story of Earl on the walls, at the end, we were treated by a giant Earl next to an even bigger Nutcracker statue. This is where we found all about Earl’z March of the Nutcrackers. Maps can be purchased at stores all around Universal, you do not need to get them at the Tribute Store.
Speaking of Nutcrackers, each store has unique Nutcrackers that reflect the store you are in. So, in the MIB Gear Store, there is a Man in Black Nutcracker and an Alien Nutcracker. In Five and Dime the Nutcrackers look like Universal Monster Characters. This makes doing this search and finding worth every minute.
The basics are simple, walk around the Parks, and in various stores are giant nutcrackers, with these nutcrackers is an image of Earl the Squirrel. Earl is accompanied by a Holiday Couplet (short verse) and the beginning letter of each couplet is the letter you are looking for to finish the puzzle that is attached. Once you have all the letters and solved the puzzle, you can take the finished booklet back to any store and trade it in for a brand new Earl the Squirrel Holiday Ornament.
FYI, you do not have to solve the puzzle or walk anywhere. You can just pick the ornament up when you buy the booklet which costs $14.91 after tax. SPOILER WARNINGS! We will be showing images of every location in the article below, with the solution to the Earl’z March of the Nutcrackers. Do not scroll too much further or you may find the solution. If you DO NOT want to be spoiled then stop reading after the next Image you see.
THE NUTCRACKERS HAVE COME TO TOWN, AND EARL HAS HIDDEN A PUZZLE AMONG THEM. USE THE MAP TO LOCATE EACH ONE AND FIND THEIR FESTIVE HOLIDAY COUPLET. USE THE FIRST LETTER IN EACH RHYME TO SOLVE EARL’S PUZZLE! HAPPY HUNTING!
