“Mickey’s Christmas Carol” Gingerbread Carousel at Disney’s Beach Club plus Boardwalk Gingerbread Display Now Open for the 2024 Holidays at Walt Disney World. The smell of gingerbread wafts through the air as you enter the main lobby of both the Beach Club and Boardwalk Resort, it brings back memories of growing up and trying to make a gingerbread house. But, the difference here is the displays at both resorts are magnificent and festive, and ours always fell apart.
“Mickey’s Christmas Carol” Carousel is imaginative, and fun. Scenes from the Disney animated short come alive in the form of carousel horses. There are a total of five horses that seem ridable, and edible at the same time. Each one features a different character and scene.
The main blue carousel horse is actually on display in the front of the main carousel. It is Goofy as Marley’s ghost. With a beautiful blue hue, and goofy’s face as a door knocker. Chest of gold and riches sit on the carousel’s back, along with chains.
Then the next three horses represent the Ghosts of Christmas – Past, Present, and Future. First, we have Jiminy Cricket on the Green carousel as in the Past, with Fezzywig inside a glass window, along with Christmas tree decorations on his back. Next is Present which is represented by the food buffet and Scrooge. Missing from the scene is Willie the Giant as the Ghost of Christmas Present (chocolate pot roast with “pishmachio”, with “smishmachio” With… with yogurt). The third, Future, Pete and Scrooge are both on the black carousel horse with a large tombstone.
Finally, the fifth one is dedicated to Scrooge and all his riches, with a money bag and cash strewn throughout the top.

For 24 years, Disney’s Beach Club Resort has continued their cherished tradition with the life-sized Holiday Carousel. Did we mention it actually spins? Each holiday season, the horses are decorated to a different theme and this year, the characters from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” will be brought to life by the talented Yacht and Beach Bakery. This yuletide celebration is masterfully created with chocolate, sugar, and fondant with hand-painted characters and handcrafted gingerbread shingles and snowflakes adorning the carousel.
This is done with a whopping 432 pounds of honey, 200 pounds of icing, 100 pounds of eggs, and 2024 pieces of gingerbread, not to mention the creativity and enthusiasm of the bakery team. Be sure to keep an eye out for the 24 hidden gold Mickeys placed throughout the display. To take a piece of the memories home with you, there’s also a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, and holiday ornament available, too.
There are also some goodies to be had at the store, which is open from 9:30 AM until 9:30 PM daily through the holidays here at Disney World.
Over at Disney’s Boardwalk: Just a short trip around crescent lake, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn plays host to a miniature gingerbread version of its iconic and fan-favorite spots from the BoardWalk itself. The BoardWalk Deli Gingerbread House, starting November 12, is beautifully created with details that look just like the seaside escape, but just in a smaller and sweet form.
The BoardWalk Deli itself is home to none other than the BoardWalk Inn Bakery team, who brings this display to life. This year, there’s also a limited-edition pin, cookie jar, and holiday ornament available for purchase to bring the gingerbread magic home with you!
