What To Expect on Christmas Day at the Magic Kingdom 2024: Christmas Parade, Fireworks, and More. Is there a more magical place to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth on Christmas day? Possible, but not for us. If you are visiting Disney World, specifically Disney’s Magic Kingdom you are in for a wonderful day (if you can get through the crowds) of holiday cheer.
There is so much to do this time of year and if you haven’t gotten a park ticket or reservation for the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day here are a few other options. Epcot Festival of the Holidays will be full of festive cheer. Merry Menagerie is ongoing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and this year Holidays at Hollywood Studios will have tons of holiday spirit for the whole family.
We get asked all the time exactly what happens on Christmas Day every year at the Magic Kingdom, and we are here to answer a few of those questions. Like, what parade runs on Christmas Day, and what times? Are there fireworks and which show? Does Happily Ever After run during the holidays? So, let’s get a few answers right off the bat.

Magic Kingdom Christmas Day Parade – 2024
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade 2024 will run two times. We do not have exact hours on the website yet, but from years of experience, the parade will run at 12:00 PM EST and then again at 3:00 PM EST. If you are here for a few days before and after Christmas Day, you are in luck because Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade normally only runs during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It should be running from December 23rd, 2024, until December 31st, 2024.
Reminder, Santa and Mrs. Claus will not be a part of the parade starting Christmas Day. Santa is delivering presents on Christmas Day, and then he starts his vacation. If you want to see Santa after Dec 25th, 2024, head to this link. Santa is on the beach at Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin soaking up the rays.

Delight in an entertaining display chock-full of good cheer. Snap memorable photos of dancing gingerbread men, marching toy soldiers and beloved Disney Characters as they float by, waving hello. There’s even a special appearance by Santa Claus—riding in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Magic Kingdom Christmas Day Fireworks – 2024
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks 2024 will show at 8:00 PM EST on Christmas Day. Again, if you are at Magic Kingdom before and after Christmas Day it normally shows all week at 8:00 PM. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks is normally only shown during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

This seasonal spectacle can be thoroughly enjoyed from most locations throughout Magic Kingdom Park—including Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland.

Tomorrow Land Speedway –
Tomorrowland Speedway has a holiday overlay! Here’s a look at the nighttime lighting — you’ll see decorative trees as you drive along the track. A special Holiday music soundtrack is played during the full ride.
Characters –
Mickey Mouse at Town Square is a must-do, but we do not have any official word on what characters will be out during the day. We know from years past that special characters will be making appearances throughout the day.
