The Muppets 70th Anniversary Magnet Collection from Disney Parks – Weekly Updates with Rare Muppets. Seventy weeks, that’s right 70 weeks of writing about The Muppets 70th Anniversary Disney Parks Magnet Collection. We are now five weeks into our collection, and so far The Muppets have made our Muppet hearts happy with magnets of some pretty rare characters that we have never seen or have not seen featured in many years.
Previously released on The Muppets Instagram: “At @DisneyParks, Muppet fans can get limited-release magnets featuring all 70 characters from #TheMuppets70! Each design will be released weekly, starting with Rowlf, and will be available for 30 days after the initial release. Think you can collect all 70?!”
Late update this weekend due to Jollywood Nights and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, along with other holiday events starting here at Walt Disney World. We did get to Marketplace Coop and scored week 11 and 12 magnets. Zoot the Saxophone player from Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem is week 11, and week 12 is Behemoth who has been around since the first episode of The Muppet Show. Read below for all the weeks.
We had written an article prior to today explaining and updating each week with the week’s newest magnet drop, but we can now explain how the process works, the price, and where and when you can find The Muppets 70th Anniversary Magnet Collections. Furthermore, we have the first five magnets. Rowlf, Pops, Lew Zealand, Baby Skeeter from the Muppet Babies 80’s cartoon, and the latest is Koozebanian Mama. Also, a special 70th Anniversary Magnet, which you can see below.
The Muppet magnets will be released 1 magnet every 7 days, and each magnet released is a limited release. The magnet will only be available for 30 days or until there is no more in stock, so if you want to start collecting the new Disney parks exclusive magnets I would get Rowlf now!
When and Where and How:
At the Disneyland Resort, visit a MADE kiosk at Star Trader, Ramones House of Body Art, or The Collectors Warehouse, and at the Walt Disney World Resort, stop by a MADE kiosk at Tomorrowland Launch Depot or Marketplace Co-Op. Marketplace Co-op can be found inside Disney Springs. The Magnets are released every Friday.
For the first 3 weeks, they were available behind the counter at the MADE Kiosk in Disney Springs at the Marketplace Co-op. Then last week we were told that the magnets must be ordered from the touch screen. Where you are given a number and the order will be filled right away after you pay. Just remember your number.
Price:
Each Magnet costs $14.99, which means if you want to collect all 70 magnets the total will be $1049.30 before taxes! If you have an Annual Pass, there is a 20% discount. Making the total $11.99, which makes a total of $839.30! That AP discount works out for you now. After Taxes, each magnet with a discount is $12.77 total of $893.90 for all 70 The Muppet Disney Park Magnets.
Weekly Releases:
Week 1: Today marked the start of The Muppets celebrating 70 years – We’re kicking off our #TheMuppets70 celebration with our first bone-afide superstar: Rowlf the Dog! Did you know that before he was pitching puns and crooning tunes, Rowlf starred in a series of dog chow commercials? It’s the doggone truth!
Week 2: Lew Zealand! “This week, we’re putting our heart and sole into celebrating Lew Zealand! Our beloved, baffling boomerang fish thrower first debuted in season 3 of The Muppet Show. Lew may go a-way, but he always comes back to us! #TheMuppets70“
Week 3: Pops! “How the time flies! We’re already spotlighting our next character for #TheMuppets70! It’s… Pops! Best known for welcoming guest stars to the theater on The Muppet Show, Pops has been in showbiz for a long, long time. How long? He can’t remember and we’ve never known.”
Week 4: Baby Skeeter from The Muppet Babies! “Twin, where have you been? Our next #TheMuppets70 spotlight is on Baby Skeeter! Skeeter, Scooter’s athletic twin sister, first appeared in 1984 in the original Muppet Babies cartoon.”
Week 5: Koozebanian Mama – Another rare character! By now, I am glad we have started collecting the Muppets’ 70th magnets, some of the characters do not have any merchandise associated with them, so getting something like this is awesome for collectors. FYI, the original muppet is on display at the Museum of the Moving Image.
“GALLEY-OH!!!! HOOP-HOOP!!!! ❤️🧡 And now #TheMuppets70 spotlight turns to the planet Koozebane as we celebrate the Koozebanian Mama, who first appeared in 1974 on The Muppet Valentine Show.”
Week 6: Wayne and Wanda! “It is our distinct pleasure at this time to introduce the next #TheMuppets70 spotlight: Wayne and Wanda! Although their acts never seem to go as planned, they’ve been a staple of our troupe since the first episode of The Muppet Show in 1976.”
All I can hear is Sam The Eagle announcing them on stage during certain episodes as the wholesome family-friendly entertainment we all deserve to counterbalance the Muppets’ silliness.
Week 7: Mo Frackle! Mo Frackle, mo’ fun! The first #TheMuppets70 spotlight of October is the lean, green, Frackle machine Mo. You may think you don’t know Mo, but that simply isn’t so! Since 2001, Mo has been in game shows, TV specials, music videos, and more.
Mo Frackle had a great appearance on Family Feud when Louie Anderson was the host. I know a few clips are available on YouTube, and it is well worth the few-minute watch!
Week 8: It’s her time! This week’s #TheMuppets70 spotlight is on Yolanda the Rat! Whether she’s working in a diner, assisting @KermittheFrog, or just providing some hot takes, Yolanda is and always will be a STAR
Week 9: Bust out the lingonberry jam and filmjölk, because this week we’re cooking up a celebration of The Swedish Chef! Leave a “Børk! Børk! Børk!” in the comments to join in the fun. #TheMuppets70
Week 10: The ghost with the most! 👻 Leading up to Halloween, this week is all about the Muppet Ghosts, who have been haunting our screens ever since The Muppet Show in 1976!
Week 11: Zoot! He’s Zoot, sax is his ax. 🎷🕶️ This week, #TheMuppets70 spotlight is all about Electric Mayhem’s jazzy, inscrutable sax-man who first debuted in 1975 and has been baffling us ever since.
Week 12: A monstrous #TheMuppets70 celebration is in order this week as we feature Behemoth! You may know him as Gene or Clean Gene or Gold Behemoth, but we know him as the big, lovable monster who’s been hanging around since 1976.
We will continue to update this article for the next 65 weeks with the newest The Muppets Magnet. Also if you follow The Muppets on IG, every Friday they drop a post with the newest magnet to be available that day at a MADE Kiosk in Disney World and Disneyland.
We have heard reports of Wayne & Wanda selling out at The Marketplace Coop, but have not verified that yet. Either way, we will continue to update this post weekly, and bi-weekly with new images. We seem to spend the money every 2 weeks. Thanks for reading! Only 62 more updates to go!
