Woody’s Lunch Box Expands Seating Near Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Want to get your Tachos off the planet on Batuu? Well, now you can, in a weird way as Disney has finally added more seating for the beloved quick-service restaurant that has lacked enough seats for all the guests. Woody’s Lunch Box has added overflow seating and tables at and in the entrance to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
Lack of seating has been a touchy subject on Reddit and on other Disney forums, with folks wanting to start petitions, and also wanting rules in place for folks to only be able to sit at Woody’s if they had ordered food. The lack of seating conversation has really been about the whole of Toy Story Land, along with the lack of shade, but that is another article.
Disney has fixed one issue, but it only created another issue that I, as a Star Wars fan, agree with. They placed the overflow tables, with seating, and Toy Story Land trash cans inside the entrance to Batuu. Now, I totally agree I am nitpicking here. Yes, this was needed. But, was breaking the going off-planet roleplay value of Star Wars worth it?
If you are going to spend that amount of money, train the Cast members, and encourage them to come up with personal backstories about the “Character” they are playing while in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, why place Toy Story Land seating and trash cans inside the entrance? You could have put Star Wars trash cans, and themed tables, and not broken that 4th wall. You can see below the Batuu light poles, with the Toy Story Trash cans.
Just imagine this, traveling on Batuu, Mr. Potato Head comes walking over and pulls out a red lightsaber “Holy crude. He’s a Sith!” Lotso Bear walks out behind him, dressed in the Emperor’s Robes. Kylo by his side, with 3 Stormtroopers. Silly I know. It just breaks theming is all we are saying. Happy for the more tables and chairs for folks to sit at.
