Don’t Let the Food Fool You: Italy’s Drinks Are the Real Star at Epcot Food & Wine Festival 2024. Every year we think that the Italy Global Marketplace during Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival will taste great, and every year we are let down! The food always looks like it will be good, it looks interesting, and we always go back thinking “This” is going to be the year that it tastes good. I mean statistically, it has to be good at some point right? Nope!
We have some good news though, the drinks are decent! But, we cannot get over how much we disliked the new food menu items. Again, we always say, your tastes may differ from ours and we would love to hear your opinion.
The Italian-style “Nachos” is an affront to our taste buds, with the grease sitting in our throats for a day or so. I know this is harsh, but it needs to be said. Someone asked me for a review, and all I could answer was “NOPE!” So, I won’t waste any more words on that.
The Polpettine Toscane meatballs are pretty much the same meatballs you get out of a can of Spaghetti O’s, just minus the o’s. The bread and sauce are actually decent. They could have just sold the bread and sauce as a dipping dish.
The Italian Cheesecake is great if only it didn’t have strawberries. Not everything needs a fruit to cover the flavor. Does the strawberry add to the dish? Yes, but this could be plain and still be very good.
I am surprised by the food, especially with how much we rave about Tutto Italia. If only they had brought the food from inside this amazing restaurant to the food booth.
Finally, I wasn’t the only one who had this thought. We had a decent group of people trying all the dishes around Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2024. The consensus was, to stay for the drinks and dessert, but run from the food.
