Muppets Lab Photo Op Removed in Less than 72 Hours From Epcot Food & Wine After Kids Destroy Set Pieces. This is just sad, I was literally writing an article about how great Muppets Lab was inside Brew Wing at the Odyssey Pavilion during Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2024. Now, I am just gonna put that article on the back burner and see what happens in the next few days.
Updated as of 10/03/2024 – The Photo Op has finally returned today. Images coming soon. It has been all moved against the back wall now, and the ropes are in front so no one can physically touch the props this time.
Welcome to Brew Wing at the Odyssey Pavilion in Partnership with Muppets Lab in World Celebration at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista Florida, USA in the Western Hemisphere of Planet Earth, 25,843 Light Years from the Epicenter of the Milky Way Galaxy, then 4 Feet to the Left reads the sign hanging over the door.
The Brew Wing and Muppets Lab just opened two days ago with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker giving us some behind-the-scenes skits, and inside into how the menu was made. The centerpiece was the new photo op, with multiple easter eggs and callbacks to past The Muppets movies and shows. You can see below how the new photo op looked on Thursday and Friday.
Now today, Saturday, the third day of the festival, and thanks to Sam’s Disney Diary for sending me this image, you can see the whole area has been removed. The Photo Op was supposed to be on display until Nov 22nd, 2024. We have added our own image below.
Yesterday we had a few people message us about seeing blatant disregard for the photo op. One report stated, “Apparently this was already destroyed by some kids whose parents decided it wasn’t important to stop them and just stood their laughing…..” Another reported watching a child pry off a few pieces from the backdrop and the parents didn’t care or do anything.
We do not know if the photo op will return, our best bet would be that it should make its return shortly after Walt Disney Imagineering figures out a better way to make it safer and less destructible.
Update as of Sunday 9/1 – We can verify that the Photo Op will be returning. It may take an extra day or two, but it will be back in Brew Wing.
If you want to see what the whole area looked like when it was fresh and new watch the video below.

This is why we can’t have nice things. And fully support strangers back handing children if the parents just stand and watch.
This is incredibly sad that something unfortunate like this happened. Hopefully they do bring it back. Perhaps with a cast member there to make sure something the set doesn’t get damaged.
I don’t know what’s wrong with parents these days. As a child if my parecaught me or my brothers doing something like this.. we would get removed..by them and punished…not laughed at and allowed to continue the destruction. Disney should have cameras on this and ban these folks for life..and bill them for the repairs
With so many phone and there should be so e kind of video showing the act of destruction by kids on the set of Muppets lab. I don’t see any video on the Internet perhaps Disney just removed the set, because whatever the reason.
disney should Stat tossing these people out of their parks. rift raft not welcome. disney has become so trashy. no one wants to visit with these type of people anyways.
That’s considered theft and vandalism in this country. I agree with the above comment! Ban the people and fine them! Shame on Disney for being complacent.
Disney has cameras everywhere. If parents can’t control or fail to control the actions of their children, Disney should escort them off property and ban them from coming back, including revoking their annual passes if they have them. People don’t have respect for any property any longer.
Parents are responsible for supervision of their children. Parents should be fined and held responsible for damages.
I can’t believe this shit. Parents needs to be held responsible for their children it’s finally time to decide to stand up to these kids and their parents. I work at a local grocery store and there’s kids that love to vandalize our property and talk back to the adults and tell us you won’t do anything and laugh it off. Their parents don’t care and laugh it off too. They don’t just vandalize they also steal and run around and they have a hurt a few of our customer by pushing and running. It’s getting out of hand.
Agree that they should be banned and fined but also press charges for vandalism against the parents. The parents are responsible for their children’s actions! Especially when they stand there and watch!
First, lifetime ban. Second, pay for damages.
People, learn to control your monsters and stop bringing them to nice places 😡
They should have been escorted off the property and banned from any Disney park. hopefully, they’ll bring it back and they will learn from their mistakes.
I’m not surprised by this. in Poulsbo, WA, a store called Central Market once hired someone to come in a make a sculpture out of a large block of cheese. The guy worked almost 8 hours sculpting an almost life-sized grocery cart with a handle and filled with food. It was there for maybe two days. Over those two days I watched kids climb on it, hang by the handle until it broke, took pieces off to throw around, and just literally destroy it. Most of these kids had parents that just stood by and watched and didn’t do a thing to stop their kids.
Poulsbo is an upscale neighborhood with people who are pretty well off and you would think, also somewhat intelligent about raising kids. At least that’s what I thought. Now I know parents can be absolute idiots no matter what their financial status or where they come from.
So sad to hear. I disgusts me what parents let their kids get away with these days. They should have to pay for the damage and be banned.
I would pay extra to see Mickey Mouse step out, back hand the kids, then escort the entire group off the property.
This is outrageous! It happens all the time. I have said something to parents and children and been ignored. Security should have been called and kicked them all out of the park.
People now have no respect and they raise their kids the same way. This is a form of vandalism and these clowns should be held responsible maybe a little jail time would be these parents some good.
This is false reporting. We were there the first day just mere hours after the festival started and while at the Odyssey there was three employees already discussing how it was a safety issue as ALL people, believe it or not Disney adults alike desperate to get photos, were touching it and that was not it’s intended purpose. Not sure why Disney would make a floor level exhibit that did not have interactive features for guests. But really low and gross for Disney adults to blame kids. Not surprising though.
So what is false about it? The photo op was removed as said in the article. A 10 year old and I quote “Went Tornado” while the parents watched and did not say or do anything about it. My facts are legit and sourced. I also talked to people in charge who confirmed what happened, where the photo op is now, and when it will return.
So one kid “destroyed” it not “kids” as your title suggests and feeds into the hate of children at the parks as so common among Disney adults.
I can only speak to my first hand account of watching adult after adult go up and touch set pieces. And three higher up employees not lower level cast members discussing how it was becoming a safety issue because everyone was touching it. Honestly I’m surprised a kid was able even able to get next to the exhibit and passed all the adults blocking it taking pictures.
Maybe a kid was the final nail in the coffin to ” destroy” it but adults played a hand in the reason why we can’t have nice things at the parks because they could not help themselves from touching it. I guess they are just big kids after all so it makes sense.
Was this meant as an interactive set? Cause I think a kid would sure think so, and you’re even touching stuff in the picture…soooo. Maybe another bad idea by Disney. Of course kids are going to want to engage with that. They could of easily made play stations but Disney loves kids in a miserable mood with nothing to do. Unfortunately these experiences have become about the adult.
