Peter Pan’s Flight American Indian Tiger Lilly Scene Updated in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Originally slated to be closed until August 20th, 2024, Peter Pan’s Flight has reopened a week earlier than expected. This was not an unexpected closure, since refurbishments are a regular aspect of running a theme park the size of Magic Kingdom.
What was unexpected was when we rode Peter Pan’s Flight and saw an updated American Indian scene featuring Tiger Lilly and what could be her Grandmother or tribal elder dancing in a drum circle with 3 others drumming on a powwow or dance drum. Tiger Lilly and the Elder are dancing in a circle, with Tiger Lilly herself arms wide with shaw in her hands which is reminiscent of a bird in flight. The Elder has feathers in her hand. The moving animatronic looks great and is a huge upgrade.
When we saw the scene the last time it was the Tribal Chief sitting around a campfire. With 2 others and Tiger Lilly. The scene is still the same in Disneyland, which we rode the night before in California during our D23 trip.

An Historic Ride
The attraction is inspired by Walt Disney’s 1953 animated classic, Peter Pan, which in turn was based on J.M. Barrie’s play and book of the same name about a 12-year old boy who refuses to grow up.
Located in Fantasyland, Peter Pan’s Flight is modeled after the classic ride at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California—one of the few remaining attractions that was operational on opening day in 1955.
