Disney and THQ Nordic surprised viewers with the announcement of “Epic Mickey: Rebrushed” during the Nintendo Direct back in April. This is a remake of the 2010 Wii-exclusive Disney game that featured the coolest peripheral of all time, a controller Paint Brush.

“Epic Mickey: Rebrushed” will bring nostalgia to fans of the original game and introduce new players to the series with updated graphics and new skills. Here’s everything we know about it:

Story Details “Epic Mickey: Rebrushed” follows the original game’s story. Mickey Mouse is drawn to Yen Sid’s workshop, where he accidentally creates the monstrous Shadow Blot while trying to paint his self-portrait. He tries to clean up the mess but has to flee, leaving the world in chaos. Decades later, the Shadow Blot abducts Mickey and takes him to Wasteland, where he meets Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Together, they work to defeat the Shadow Blot and restore Wasteland.

Gameplay Like the original game, “Epic Mickey: Rebrushed” features a magic paintbrush filled with paint and thinner. These can be used to create or erase objects and enemies. Thinner can erase obstacles or reveal hidden items, while paint can restore objects. Power-ups to replenish both fluids can be found throughout the game.

The paint and thinner are tied to a morality system. Using paint to deal with enemies and boss fights increases your paint gauge, while using thinner increases the thinner gauge.
