‘Portraits of Courage: A Commander’s Tribute to America’s Warriors’ Now Open at Epcot. The Walt Disney Company is proud to announce a year-long exhibition titled “Portraits of Courage: A Salute to Heroes” at EPCOT. This special display, opening June 9th inside The American Adventure pavilion, features a collection of over 60 portraits painted by President George W. Bush himself.

The exhibit is now open daily in the American Adventure building rotunda. The exhibit originates from President Bush’s personal dedication and the continued efforts of the Bush Institute’s Veterans and Military Families program. This remarkable art display features over 60 vivid oil paintings by President Bush, portraying service members and veterans who have honorably served since 9/11. These individuals have become known to the President personally since his departure from office.

The paintings are numbered and sequential. It is a powerful statement from a President, that is only enhanced when you are exploring the exhibit while the Voices of Liberty, the acapella group, performs classic songs celebrating America. It was quite a beautiful experience as we were looking at paintings from a President of the United States of America, who was honoring Military service members, all while the Voices of Liberty were singing the anthems from each branch of the US military.

“We are thrilled to share President Bush’s remarkable collection with EPCOT visitors,” said Ken Hersh, President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. “We hope this exhibit inspires reflection on the sacrifices made by these heroes, as well as the challenges they face when transitioning back to civilian life.”

The exhibit also provides information and resources dedicated to supporting veterans and their families. These resources include tools for accessing high-quality mental and brain healthcare at no cost.
