After Hours at Typhoon Lagoon Cast Member Event With Special Characters. Firstly, I want to say thank you to Disney Cast Members who work at the Disney Reservation Center here at Walt Disney World. We were invited out to enjoy an after-hours party at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and had a great evening. Special and rare characters, food, and of course all the fun and adventure you can have at one of Disney’s best-themed parks.
This made us want to go to Disney H2O Glow After Hours at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Splash into magic—and enjoy lower wait times for popular attractions—at this 3-hour nighttime event! Join us from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM on select evenings from May 25 to August 31, 2024.
Finding a seat on the sand, or basically anywhere is easy during the transition from day guests to special event guests. This holds true for After Hours events. We found a few lounge chairs in front of Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool and decided to make Crush ‘n’ Gusher our initiation into the water!
Shoot the chute on this gushing coaster-like raft ride—one of the park’s signature attractions! Get Your Juices Flowing. Enter an abandoned fruit-processing plant and prepare for a thrilling “water coaster” ride down a 400-foot-long tube slide. Find a partner and choose from 3 “fruit chutes”—the Pineapple Plunger, Coconut Crusher, or Banana Blaster—or go bananas and crush it solo!
We have a YouTube video going up shortly and you can watch us be ridiculous going down our favorite water die at Typhoon Lagoon. We were immediately soaked as our raft flipped over coming out the bottom, and we had to swim back to shore!
Outside the pool area, there were some special and rare characters waiting. Okay, we waited on them, not them waiting on us. But, everyone knows I am a huge character person here at Disney World. The more rare, the better for me. While, last month at Disney’s NAimal Kingdom Moonlight Magic I got to meet 3 of these, it was the fourth one I was gushing over.
Scrooge and Ludwig Von Drake, along with Launchpad & Darkwing Duck were the special meet and greets! Ludwig in his original outfit is a very rare sight here at Disney World. Yes, he showed up at Moonlight Magic a few years ago, it may have been 10 years since he was in the greens!
Max and his Dad were in their ‘Goof Troop’ outfits, and while Max was late to the party, Goofy held the party in the palms of his hands. Coming off the stage and dancing with the Cast Members, and their families! This is what makes Disney special. Watching the kids go nuts to dance with Goofy was special.

We capped off our evening in the wave pool. Experience the drama of 6-foot swells at North America’s largest wave pool and the water park’s signature attraction.
This is always magical for our family. While waiting for the next waves we can talk and just relax. Then the anxiety builds as we wait for the huge waves to come at us.
Brave the Wave
Wade into the warm water where gentle waves lap the white sandy beach. Swim out and listen for the thunderous “sonic boom” and the squeals of delighted swimmers as little ripples become big kahunas. Keep watch and feel the excitement build as a cresting wave heads your way—and get ready to paddle!

One thing we love about going to these events is the Cast Members! We know a lot of friends and family who directly work for Mr. Mouse, and every single one of them has been great to talk to off the clock. They also trust us that we won’t spill any behind-the-scenes discussions they have around us.
