Hollywood Studios 35th Anniversary Celebration Images and Video. Hosted by The Muppets, the 35th anniversary celebration was more about celebrating Cast Members and looking forward to the future, than it was about the history of the park. While they did pay homage to the past, it was without a nostalgic feel, and more about the past laid the groundwork for what is to come.
The Cast Members spotlighted have been working at Hollywood Studios since day one, 35 years ago, May 1st, 1989. We have met most of these Cast Members, and can only speak highly of each interaction we have had. Congratulations to every Cast Member highlighted yesterday.

The Stage is set up in Theater of the Stars.
Ms. Piggy and Kermit the Frog were the MCs of the celebration. While Kermit played the straight man in the comedy routine, Ms. Piggy had some great lines. At one point, she mentions all the park Icons and then implies that SHE should be the Icon of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Not Hollywood Tower Hotel!
Serena Arvizu, one of the two Walt Disney Ambassadors was the co-host of the evening. She represents the Cast Members as ambassadors and always does a great job giving the Cast their due respect. Shwe introduced the Vice-President of Hollywood Studios, Jackie Swisher. Mrs. Swisher comes off as not only brilliant but in love with her job. We have met her in the parks and she is always gracious with her time.
Below, are all the Cast Members who are still working at Disney’s Hollywood Studios since opening day. Some may recognize various cast members, while others are behind the scenes and do not always get the credit they deserve. Oh, and their is Fantasmic! Mickey Mouse
During the finale of the Celebration, characters from Fantasmic! came out and danced in the audience, while confetti canons went off behind them.
Leaving the show, we ran into the head Cast Member, Mr. Jeff Vahle – President of Walt Disney World!
