Disney Railroad Smuggling Alcohol and Tobacco to Critters at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Makes a great headline and a better joke! To be fair, they are also bringing in Soap, Lanterns, and Lumbar. Honestly, we do not know where the Whiskey and the Humidor are going. They could just be staged here for the next train out, which would mean there is more going on at the Southern Dome Salt Company than just cooking!

Sorry, I just wanted to see if people are reading the article or not. Now let us move on to the actual news of the day. Earlier in the day Disney Parks and Walt Disney Imagineering posted that two new shops would open alongside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure here in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Previously they had announced them for Disneyland back on March 18th, 2024, Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club.

Here in Disney World, we are getting Critter Corner and Tiana’s Bayou General both retail locations will open with the new attraction. Critter Corner will be located on the outside of the attraction near the main drop in the old Briar Patch store. While Tiana’s General will be in the old PhotoSpot location when exiting the ride.

We were at the Magic Kingdom when this was announced and got over to see the new marquee, along with the new window displays.

What caught our eye though was the new theming in front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Frontierland Railroad. This is an odd section where you could say both entrances are, so it took a moment and some thought to realize this new theming is for the Walt Disney World Railroad Frontierland Station.

This is great because we do not often see new theming for the WDW Railroad. It kind of ‘is what it is’. It is the Disney Railroad, Disney Imagineering does not need to add anything or change it in any way. They made enough changes and additions when the WDW Railroad was closed for years while the Tron Lightcycle run was being constructed, and the Railroad tracks had to be changed. Along with a new tunnel, and of course the change to the conductor. Okay, maybe they have added a bunch of new theming recently. See what I did there? I wrote myself into a corner. I digress.

There are now wooden crates added to the entrance of Frontierland Railroad with new theming. You can see boxes with the words Horseshoes, Whiskey, Flintlock, Fragile, The Humidor, Lumbar, Soap, R.R. Spikes, Lanterns, and a barrel with XXX (This is for Gunpowder explosives, not XXX like … well you know… um…Ask your parents kids.) Dang adults, get your minds out of the gutters!

Recently we also got to see the new entrance signs for Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure installed under the Frontierland Station, along with the new Tiana’s Food and Main Entrance sign on the barn leading into the ride. Disney Imagineers also installed new lamp posts and lamps to light up the queue of the ride.
