Hallmark and Ashley Williams Are Awarding a Film Directing Scholarship Through the Alliance for Women in Media
Hallmark Channel and the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation have opened submissions for the second annual Make Her Mark scholarship, which awards one undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a directing career a cash grant and a private mentorship session with actress, director, and Make Her Mark founder Ashley Williams. The scholarship is part of a broader initiative Hallmark Channel launched approximately three and a half years ago to increase the number of women directing Hallmark original movies, and the AWM Foundation partnership formalizes that commitment into a pipeline that starts at the education level.

A pair of life-size Disney Classic Doll box installations featuring Rapunzel and Tiana debuted at Disney Springs on April 6, 2026, and guests can step directly inside them for photos through April 26. The experience is tied to some product change! Disney's new Classic Doll packaging is now 100% plastic-free, and the switch is projected to eliminate more than 110,000 pounds of plastic per year compared to the 2020 design. That is roughly the combined weight of eleven elephants.

Two new Star Wars popcorn buckets are headed to Disneyland Park starting April 28 and May 4, 2026, joined by a wave of sippers, swizzle sticks, and collectible mugs timed to May the 4th celebrations and the return of Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. Disney has confirmed the full lineup through the Disney Parks Blog, and there is a lot here for fans of every era of the saga. Harkins Theatres announces that select tickets are now available for IMAX 70MM showings of Dune: Part Three, eight months ahead of the film's debut.
Presented on a massive 60-foot screen with pristine laser projection and precision IMAX sound, Dune: Part Three the film follows Paul Atreides as he navigates political intrigue and a galaxy-wide holy war, striving to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya, this installment promises the breathtaking visuals and epic storytelling that have defined the series.

Special IMAX 70MM showings begin Thursday, December 17, 2026, with screenings at 7:00 PM nightly through Sunday, December 20.
